Bokaro resident Bipasha Singh has re-inscribed Bokaro's name on the sports map by winning three gold and one silver medals for India in the Asian Powerlifting Championship. Bipasha Singh shared her experience by meeting Bokaro MLA Biranchi Narayan. Narayan honoured and congratulated Bipasha on this incredible achievement and wished her good luck for the future endeavors.
It is noteworthy that in the Asian Powerlifting Championship held in Coimbatore from June 17 to June 21, Bipasha has achieved golden success by defeating players from China, Taipei, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Oman, Mongolia, Iran, Iraq, Nepal, Bhutan etc. Bipasha has won three gold and one silver medal in the 52 kg weight category by lifting 375 kg. Bipasha gave credit for her success to coach Devi Prasad Chatterjee, who lives in Bokaro, and he himself is an international player.
During this occasion BJP Bokaro General Secretary Sanjay Tyagi, Dr Prahlad Barnwal, Bhaiya Pritam, KK Boral, Shyamnath Mandal, Vikash Kumar, Khagendra Mahatha, Laxmikant Mandal, Abhay Kumar Golu, Manjit Singh and many others were present.
