Work is in full swing on Open Air Theatre which is to come up in Betla under Eco Tourism scheme. The Open Air Theatre is near the old forest rest house of Betla, which has over the years attained the status of a kind of heritage. It will have a capacity of 70 to 75 sitters said sources.

Deputy Director North division of PTR A K Mishra said the Open Air Theatre will screen wildlife films for the tourists where locals will be also a viewer but not at any cost of inconvenience or discomfort to the tourists.

Mishra said this Eco Tourism scheme is of the year 2016 -17 and the work has been given to state building construction corporation. A couple of electricity poles and a few trees are to be removed here for a better and effective theatre show said sources.

A six room Tourist Hostel under Eco Tourism is also coming up near this Open Air Theatre in Betla.

xHere the work is slow and none in PTR believes it will be ready by this October end as claimed by state building construction corporation. This is also of 2016 -17.

In the premise of the Nature Interpretation Centre Betla is also coming up kiosk under Eco Tourism where PTR plans to give free internet facility to tourists. This scheme again of 2016 -17 is at snail’s pace in matter of construction.

Eight bamboo huts in Betla under Eco Tourism presents a contrast with its name so far as it is all a brick sand iron cement stone chip unit and one wonders as to how it is a bamboo hut.  Sources said once these 8 units are ready it will be furnished with bamboo to give it anambience of living in a bamboo hut!

Sources said officials of state building construction corporation just did not pay much attention to the conference hall roof on which concrete work was started which caused extensive damages to the conference hall of PTR forcing authorities to ask this corporation to stop any further construction on the roof of this conference hall.

Cracks have developed in the wall while a big chunk of false ceiling has given way because of te pressure of pillars coming up on the roof said sources. Again this extended work is under Eco Tourism.
