On the occasion of its first anniversary on Tuesday, Oasis Fertility celebrated Mass Baby Shower for the women who conceived with the help of Oasis Fertility in the last one year.
Addressing a Press meet on the occasion, Clinical Head and Fertility Specialist at Oasis Fertility for Reproductive Medicine, Dr Sarbjaya Singh said that Oasis has a very comprehensive approach of treating a couple, and the treatment is totally personalized, no single couple can get the same treatment as the issues are very different with each one of them.
“We have been giving 60 to 70 per cent success rates to the people of Ranchi and Jharkhand and that is one of the reasons why Oasis Fertility is one of the most trusted fertility centers in Ranchi. We also understand the cost implications and we are very sensitive on the expenses and always try to keep the cost low. Also, in Ranchi we have something very unique, which no other center has. It is called PGT-A, which is primarily pre-genetic testing of the embryos, which is a very highly skilled technique and not everyone can do, with this method we are able to pick and choose the best embryo which has the highest chances of conception. Another unique thing about us is cryopreservation, vitrification. We run a repro bank for the benefit of the patients, even if a cycle fails the couple still has a chance to get their gametes transferred as we cryopreserve them before the first transfer itself,” said Singh.
The Clinical Head further said that lifestyle changes have gone from bad to worse, and include increasing age at marriage, increasing number of working women who delay pregnancy, rising alcohol and tobacco consumption, sedentary lifestyle coupled with fast food consumption.
More educated women are more likely to postpone marriages and childbirth.
They are also likely to opt for smaller family sizes as they are busy with their careers and work commitments. The prevalence of smoking among Indian men is around 48 per cent, which is way higher than that in the UK and the US. Smoking is known to lower the sperm count, motility as well as function. However, the prevalence is Indian subcontinent has been estimated to be between 4 to 25 per cent in various studies,” she added.
