like every year, thousands of Haj pilgrims are selected from all over Jharkhand, who will come into the capital to fly to the Holy city; but this year their proper accommodation facility to halt in Ranchi seems turning to be a big question, as the number of pilgrims is huge.
The Haj house at Kadru is not yet complete underlying the fact that number of pilgrims this year has increased by 400 and total number of pilgrims applied is around 3,461. Apart from this, there were already some issues regarding the building infrastructure and water sewage problem at the Haj house to which the Haj committee has agreed to resolve.
Though the committee has made some basic accommodation arrangements for the travellers, it has also neglected the dilapidated condition of the building.
Despite this, the committee has also decided to accommodate all the pilgrims at the Haj house like every year even after knowing that the condition of the Haj house is not appropriate.
“We already have made provisions for water supply and have also constructed new toilets in the Haj house. Apart from this like every year, the pilgrims would stay there before the take off. We are trying to make provisions for those undertaking haj. But to provide the accommodation facility and make it more probable lies in the hands of the Government," said the staff members of Jharkhand State Haj Committee.
It has been long since the construction of the building started. In 2009 September, the portico of the building had collapsed and the building went under investigation department, since then the work of the building was halted. However, now the construction responsibility of the Haj building has been handed over to the building construction department.
Funds for the pilgrim support and appointment of Khadims has already been done, plans have also been laid forth for the journey in September, but the building is not yet complete and accommodation is not in a proper condition. The building requires renovations, as its condition seems unfit for staying.
“The plans regarding the completion of this building is still going on and we have targeted to complete the building by the time Haj pilgrims arrive into Ranchi,” l Khyengate, Chief Secretary of Building construction Department, Said.
