A 25 member team of National Security Guards led by an SP rank officer arrived Barhi on Sunday. Police inspector cum officer in-charge of Barhi police station gave a warm welcome to the team members along with the denizens of Barhi near Barhi Golden Crossing chowk.

A function was organised in Barhi in which BDO Jeetrai Murmu and CO Sanjay Kumar Singh felicitated the team members. The team leaders said that their group is on a special drive to aware the people on the issue of internal security. The team has started from Manesar Gurugram and will travel almost every part of the country during this journey. Their aim is to make the people aware about their role in combating and curbing the threats of internal security such as naxalism, terrorism etc.

later the team members visited some remote areas of Barhi block which are known to be naxal prone. During these visits the team members interacted with the villagers and appealed to all to strengthen their hands in the fight against naxalism, terrorism etc. The team leader and other members of the team clearly said that helping the elements engaged in anti-national or anti-social activities is like putting your legs on axe.

The officials of police and district administration also participated in this dialogue with the villagers and assured them all possible help from their side. Some villagers said that they keep their mouth shut because of fear and poverty. The officials said that the government is running many beneficiary schemes for people like you. You will have to come forward to take the benefits and it will certainly change the scenario because naxalism is only hampering the developmental works and the main motto of people attached with different groups has become making money these days.

The team arrived Barhi from Koderma where yesterday they stayed in Sainik school Tillaiya. In the evening the team left Barhi and proceeded towards their next destination Barkattha situated on GT road.
