The Vice Chancellor of the Nilamber Pitamber University, AN Ojha has asked the examination department officials to bridge the widening gap of the academic sessions by holding examinations in time and its subsequent publication of results. The NPU has started its final degree course examination on August 20, which will last till September 4 if the intervening period witnesses no bandh call from the Naxal outfit said sources.
Academic sessions are running late here for various reasons. Ojha told The Pioneer that officials have been directed to work 24x7 to lessen the gap among the various academic sessions. He said, recently he put off some holidays for the personnel/officials of the university examination department. He said this may be repeated if situation so arises.
On being asked as to what the university is pursuing in the wake of the complaint case so lodged by a student activist in the court of the CJM Daltonganj here the VC said ‘The complaint case so lodged is a bunch of white lies and wild allegations which are baseless, untrue, unfounded and quite a concocted one’. The case is a tragedy and travesty of truth. It has more fiction and no fact he reiterated. Ojha said that the complaint case so filed is a total distortion of fact and truth. He said the university has tremendous faith in the dispensation of justice by the court of law of this country.
Asked if the university has also filed any case against the protesters of August 6 when a student body held violent demonstration in support of their 11 point charter of demands Ojha said ‘This is another piece of canard. The university has not filed any case at all. This is a sheer untruth’. He added in the same vein ‘The University looks forward to a re-start of negotiation and dialogue with the students leaders agitating for 11 point charter of demands. We tried hard to speak to them on the issue but in vain’.
As for 11 point charter of demands, the University has readied a point to point response in writing which the University is ready to share with the protesters or with student bodies so eager to know about the demands and their fulfillment by the University, reiterated the VC. He said the University is prepared to issue a White Paper on these 11 points.
