Nilamber Pitamber University, Plamu is facing three pronged problems --conferment of degree certificate, holding of meeting of the Senate and holding of Chancellor’s Trophy. The university has overcome the problem of conferment of degree certificate and Chancellor’s Trophy. And incidentally these two have been done in the past 120 days only. This university is over eight years old and these two issues were just lying hot and cold in the past.
SN Singh VC of the NPU who joined the post on May 8 this year said, “The day I joined here university officials apprised me of these trio issues. I in my mind fixed my priority to first disburse degree certificate and then to go all out to conduct Chancellor’s Trophy. The maiden degree certificate was sent by post to Kishore Anurag a B Tech of this university trying his luck abroad. And on August 31 Her Excellency the Governor came here in Daltonganj to grace the finale of the three day inter university wrestling tournament.”
Singh said, “Now we are concentrating on holding the maiden Senate meeting of this university and I am confident NPU officials will put their heads together to make this too a success as the other two like disbursement of degree certificate and Chancellor’s Trophy.”
Singh had a word of appreciation for the support and co operation that was extended to him and his team by the officials of the Raj Bhavan Ranchi. However a modest S N Singh reiterated, “The success of Chancellor’s Trophy has neither got into his head nor has it sat on his head.”
Sources said it was Governor cum Chancellor Droupadi Murmu who won the hearts of one and all when she asked students to be an “all rounder”and girls to “learn martial arts and yoga” to keep at bay unforeseen situation coming to them in street.
Sources said no Chancellor has ever picked a line or two of his/her VCs in his/her speech but here in Daltonganj Chancellor Droupadi Murmu ‘ looking towards VC S N Singh from the podium said the concern of VC sahib that students bunk classes is a serious matter and I fervently ask students to trust class rooms more than their coaching centres that they so roam around’.
On being asked that many important persons of the territorial jurisdiction of this NPU were conspicuous by their absence VC said all attention will be now paid to this issue.
