After nearly a year Nilamber Pitamber University, Daltonganj on Monday got a pro vice chancellor in Deep Narayan Yadav, who joined his new assignment here following an appointment by Raj Bhavan recently.
Yadav has come from Deendayal Upadhaya Gorakhpur university Gorakhpur in UP where was a professor in the department of philosophy said the NPU registrar J N Shekhar.
Shekhar said Yadav took charge of the pro vc from the outgoing VC of this university S N Singh at a very simple function attended by only university officials wearing masks. S N Singh was holding this charge of pro vc in addition to his own.
Shekhar said the post of the pro VC was lying vacant here since 2019 when the last incumbent P K Poddar had quit this post here only to leave for Bihar’s Bhagalpur.
Strange enough this university is to have its new VC too from UP as the appointee for the post of VC herein NPU Ram Lakhan Singh is from Dr R M L Avadh university Faizabad. Ram Lakhan
Singh is of bio chemistry department.
Sources said on his joining here the NPU will have 3 faces from UP pro VC Yadav, VC Ram Lakhan Singh and the registrar Shekhar from Meerut as well who is already here before these two new faces of UP here.
The Registrar said the new VC is also expected to be joining here this ongoing week itself.
Outgoing VC S N Singh said “ I had made up my mind to relinquish the post after handing over my charge as VC to our new pro VC Yadav today itself but the principal secretary higher, technical education & skill development department Shailesh Kumar advised me to stay here till the arrival and joining of the new man Ram Lakhan Singh.”
