Nilamber Pitamber University, Daltonganj celebrated its eighth establishment day on Tuesday and held a simple but impressive show on its very limited space on rent in which the NPU is functioning over the last eight years for want of land and its own building..

Vice Chancellor AN Ojha told The Pioneer, “We know our space is small but our vision is big.” The university had invited Divisional Commissioner RA Ekka, DIG V Shukla 2 I/C 134 battalion of CRPF A Tripathy and the three did not miss the celebration and sat all through the programme which went on for nearly three hours. Two of the three coming from security forces DIG and 2 I/C of CRPF showed keen interest in the show like the Commissioner Ekka who said ‘A students just misses to love and respect his country if he violates the rule of the land.’

NPU students union president Rajiv Ranjan Dev Pandey gave his speech in chaste Hindi which was dotted with couplets. This student union leader doing MSc in Physics rolled out a charter of demands like introduction of BEd courses in affiliated colleges, arrangement for skill development training, scrapping of home centre at UG level examination besides others.

Registrar A Singh read out the report card which was neither any exuberant nor any gloomy. Singh refrained from making any parade of pain in terms of acute crisis of man power in the university.

Girls of affiliated colleges in Garhwa district presented eye catching shows on this occasion where song, dance and drama enthralled everyone.

DSW of NPU Rakesh Kumar and NSS co ordinator of NPU Radha Raman Kishore pulled all stops out for the success of this show.

DIG V Shukla motivated the students to reach their goals while Commissioner Ekka advised the students not to fall in the trap of boy friend or girl friend as students have just three or four years on their hands and they must try to acheieve what they have thought fit for them.

VC AN Ojha was very optimistic when he said, “It hardly matters where I will be in times to come but I am confident this baby just 8-year-old NPU will go ahead of six or seven decade old university in the State.”

PVC Bijay Singh over saw the arrangement as sources said there was some hiccups regarding the sitting row on the dais.

The 2 I/C of 134 battalion of CRPF A Tripathy stunned every one in the gathering when he made a very candid comment that he would have been far more pleased had NPU celebrated its establishment day in its premise of its own.

The NPU has sent a proposal to the state government to start courses in Martial Arts, Environment & Water Management, Tour & Travels Management, Fashion Designing etc.

A Hindi teacher who is a columnist Kumar Birender compered the show with an elegant touch.

With recorded National Anthem played twice on this occasion the show ended on a peaceful note.
