Following a directive from Secretary of Higher and Technical Education and Skill Development, Ajoy Kumar Singh, who in the meeting with the VCs the State universities on Tuesday in Ranchi asked to launch an intensive drive for the registration of the pass students of session 2015, 2016 and 2017 for placement, VC of Nilamber Pitamber University SN acknowledged going after this directive.
Briefing newsmen here SN Singh said, “The NPU will be going for this for the first time. Registration of students for placement is somewhere 1500 to 2000. In the first week of January there will be employers here for the placement of the suitable and qualified registered students.”
Jharkhand government has hired two agencies which are coordinating with employers of various companies for this placement drive. The VC said registration of students for jobs is not that difficult but affiliated colleges hardly take any interest in such affairs for the students. NPU has 4 constituent colleges, two engineering colleges, 15 B Ed colleges. 98,000 students have passed outs during 8 year tenure of NPU said sources. The placement segments are banking, finance, retail, hospitality, tourism industries and IT.
