Do you owe a Hotel or lodge or Dharamshala or banquet hall in any of the urban areas of Ranchi districtIJ If yes, then it is the apt time to get a trade licence from Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC). Else you would have to pay fine charges.
RMC has made registration for trade licencing mandatory from this year onwards. Speaking over the matter, RMC Deputy CEO Shailendra lal said, “This is a trade licensing method that Jharkhand Government has incorporated with perspective to 2011 RMC Act. An amendment has been issued in April 1 wherein RMC areas and its adjoining areas comprising Dharamshala, Hostels, lodges, Meeting houses and Clubs have to take a trade licence on which annual fee would be fixed. An advertisement has been notified for application of this trade licence effective from April 1 to May 30. It might be extended also.”
More than 700 such commercial use buildings exist in the state capital. A particular section of the municipal is working on this tax awareness programme.
lal informed that even after the deadline of this application filing if a person is found guilty in managing a trade usage building without a licence then he or she would have to pay Rs2000 as penalty and Rs 100 on per day basis for continuation of violation of the Act.
Adding more strict action over people the owner of that premises would be fined Rs 10,000 at a time along with Rs 1000 each day for violating this act continuously.
