One more Naxal outfit has been added to the list of outfits of extremists in Palamu - Second Tritiya Prastuti Committee (STPC). It operates in dozen of villages of Ramgarh and Chainpur in Palamu. Incidentally, these places are in contiguity of Garhwa and latehar districts.
The deputy superintendent of police, Ajay Kumar has confirmed the setting up of this new outfit of Naxals called STPC. Palamu has already a string of Naxal outfits like CPI Maoist, the dreaded one, TPC, TPC 2, PlFI, JPC, JJMP, and now STPC. It is the TPC that has established itself more in Palamu, said sources. Ajay said, this is a split group of the TPC and has 7 or 8 cadres only.
Ajay further told The Pioneer that this STPC is led by Mahesh Bhuiyan. On Monday, police got information of Bhuiyan being there at village Bari Jharia. Accordingly, a team of police officials was rushed to this village under the leadership of inspector T Soren. Bhuiyan and his accomplices managed to flee before the police team could have cornered them, conceded Ajay. One house belonging to Pintoo Singh was then raided from where the police seized a muzzle loaded gun.
The DSP admitted that the kidnapping-cum-murder of Prema Devi has come as a challenge to the police and it is determined to gag any outfit coming into existence. Prema’s body was found on Saturday after 6 days of kidnapping.
On being asked as to why there is this mushrooming of Naxal outfits, Ajay said it is all for easy money to be grabbed.
