Now, JAC 4 mock tests for Intermediate students

Enthused by the positive response to the mock tests being conducted for the Class X board examinations, Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has decided to hold four mock tests for the intermediate students from 2014-15 session onwards at an interval of three months before the D-Day.

A first-time initiative by JAC, the move is aimed at improving the performance of intermediate students, especially of the science stream. It is prompted by poor results in subjects like English, mathematics and science in the recent past. "The Class XI final examinations will be held from January 27 to February 6. We have directed all the DEOs to start preparing sample tests just after exams for better results," JAC Chairman Anand Bhushan said in a State-level meeting with DEOs on Saturday.

The meeting was held to review the preparations for the entrance examinations for Netarhat Vidyalaya (Boys) and Indira Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Hazaribagh for the upcoming session. The JAC chairman said they were sure the mock tests would help students judge their level of preparedness. Unlike previous years, the JAC has decided to increase the duration of form availability and submission in order to fill up full seats of these two reputed schools under JAC. Applicants can purchase the application forms from the office of respective district education office from January 20 to February 20 and submit the same with all the formalities from January 25 to January 28.

"This time we have requested the DEOs to help the guardians in filling up the caste certificate required to attach with this application form," Bhushan added. Notably, the seat limit for Netarhat School is 200 and for Indira Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya it is 150. Unfortunately, during past few years, several seats of these two schools remained vacant. "Our main motive is to increase the enrolment in these two schools. So, we have extended the dates of form purchase and submission," said Bhushan. The entrance examinations will be held in two phases on May 30 and 31.

Also, JAC has ordered all the DEOs to conduct workshops in their areas for evaluating the answer sheets of intermediate and matriculation appearing students through step marking process.
