Now films for cops in Palamu to bust stress: DIG

Start Up coinage of Prime Minister Narender Modi has caught up Palamu police range DIG Saket Kumar Singh.

In order to bust the stress of the cops in this left wing extremist hit range DIG Saket is going to launch screening of films on police for cops and their families in the Daltonganj based police line multi purpose hall and all for free for cops and their families. Screening of films is once a month .

DIG Saket K Singh spoke to the Pioneer on how he would do this for the cops who are virtually starved of recreation.

He said the multi purpose hall is well equipped and police line here has a projector and screen too.

He agreed tackling extremism and crime keep cops under stress and some recreation will help them much to get themselves de stressed.

DIG opined that there are a good number of films depicting police men in good light and that will be screened.

What about those films where cops are shown taking bribe, implicating innocents in false cases, going for beating inmates in police lock ups causing custodial deaths and even killing innocents in fake encounters the DIG said ‘Films depict the situation but here I want to stress hard that I always ask the officials to have great regards for human rights and to ensure that innocents do not suffer at the hands of police’.

Again pestered if cops would be shown live encounters of security forces with the extremists to which a calm Saket said ‘Picturisation of encounter with extremists is back seated by us when we face a barrage of indiscriminate firing from the extremists as in the volley of shots coming to us then is to be responded and retaliated firmly and adequately instead of standing up and shooting the incident with lens’.

The idea to launch screening of films for cops has come after the initiation and start of Common Mess in the police lines here. Sources said DIG police Palamu had first inaugurated Common Mess in latehar police line.

Now a similar Common Mess with no caste tag attached to 'chouka' has been declared open in Garhwa police line and Daltonganj police line by DIG.
