Now, National lok Adalat nine times in this calendar year! The first of the nine  National lok Adalat was held on Saturday February 14. The second of the nine series is slated for the second week of March.

The principal district and sessions judge Palamu civil courts, Kishore Kumar Srivastava said these nine National lok Adalat are issue centric like on Saturday one which was bank centric in which cases of negotiable instrument, certificate case under public demand recovery act, bouncing of cheques etc were disposed of. Similarly the March month National lok Adalat will have multi centric issue like MGNREGA, land acquisition and land revenue.

To a question that too many National lok Adalats in a year take away its glamour, Srivastava said, “The frequency has been increased with the sole aim at reaching out to people in great numbers as this Saturday it was all related to bank/banking/ loan bounce of cheques etc and this way the focus is issue based which in the long term will pay rich dividends’.For Saturday’s National lok Adalat four benches were set up said the PDJ.

All eyes are on the National lok Adalat which will take up MGNREGA issues as here there is a galore of complaints like non-payment of wages to labourers of MGNREG schemes, fudging of muster roll, dead labourers shown working on MGNREG scheme, labourers’ job cards under custody of middle men, erratic entries of working days of labourers in job cards, absence of drinking water and baby nursing facility at work site of the MGNREG scheme.

land Revenue is another crucial issue as people are to run for mutation of their land besides land disputes going on for decades. The secretary of the DlSA Palamu Uttam Anand told The Pioneer that with too many National lok Adalats people will not have to wait any longer but they can reach DlSA with their problems that are shortlisted for the month.
