Noted sports journalist Arun Kumar Thakur today passed away in Delhi. Thakur was battling with cancer. He is survived by three sons and wife. Thakur was 61 years of age.
Thakur began his career as a journalist from The New Republic and subsequently made enriching contribution to Ananda Bazaar Patrika and The Times of India besides as a commentator in
Doordarshan. Thakur worked as a journalist with The Telegraph, Ranchi for almost five years.
He was also the Head of Department of English at Ranchi College.
As a sports journalist Thakur is credited with a book in English titled Wah! Dhoni dedicated to captain of Indian cricket team MS Dhoni.
