Barkagaon MlA Nirmala Devi has alleged the JP Central Jail administration for not giving her permission to meet with her husband and former Minister Yogendra Sao.
Talking to newsmen at her residence in Hazaribagh on Sunday the Congress legislator said that her husband was sick so she prayed the jail administration to allow her to meet him but she was stopped outside the jail premises and after sometimes informed that due to administrative reasons her pray cannot be entertained.
Annoyed with the jail administration Nirmala said that the condition of her husband who is inside the jail since long is deteriorating day by day. “He had complained about chest pain and burning in eyes and ear some days ago but instead of referring him to any superior medical institution the jail administration has withdrew the medical aid given to him earlier,” said the MlA.
She was also angry with the jail and district administration as she complained that both were behaving with her husband like a criminal not as an agitator. “He is brought to the court with handcuffs which is against his prestige because he was the Cabinet Minister of this state some years ago.”
When asked about the allegations made by Nirmala Devi Superintendent of JP Central Jail Rupam Prasad said the she had met Yogendra Sao two days ago and according to jail manual, “we cannot allow next meeting before next 8 days with the under-trail inmates” and informed that meetings with convicted inmates is only possible after 15 days as per the manual. Regarding the ill health of Yogendra Sao the jail superintendent said that he was not feeling well one day and on that day he was admitted in the jail hospital.
Visiting doctor of Hazaribagh Sadar hospital Dr SK Rajan has treated him and it was found that the cause of his illness was increasing summer and nothing else. Dr Rajan visits JP Central Jail time to time and during his visit he treats the jail inmates admitted in jail hospital.
On the other hand as per our sources the jail welfare officer of Jharkhand Tarun Kumar Bodra visited JP Central Jail and talked with Yogendra Sao. The purpose of the meeting is said to be confidential.
