Normal life returns in Habibinagar finally

Published on:

After more than a fortnight, normal life seems to have started coming back on track in Habibinagar — the site of bomb blast on the concluding day of Ramnavmi procession of Hazaribagh. Since the evening of April 17, most of the houses of this locality were locked and from Tuesday evening the residents of this locality started coming back to their homes.

It all happened due to the efforts of the Secretary of Hazaribagh Jama Masjid Gulam Moinuddin Ahmed who after getting the request of the women of the area talked with senior officials of state administration. Yesterday the secretary along with a delegation went to Ranchi and met with Principal Secretary of the Governor, DGP and other officials and talked on the issue of plight of the denizens of Habibinagar.

The delegation said to the officials that the incident of Habibinagar is really a matter of concern for everyone but innocent denizens are also suffering due to it. They requested the officials to ensure that innocent denizens will not be tortured or punished and demanded to punish all the culprits of this incident. They also criticized the statements of some political leaders and even bureaucrats who had linked this incident with global terrorist groups.

Since Tuesday evening till the filing of this report more than 75% houses locked since last fortnight once again became lighted which a good sign. Only women and children are coming back in their houses, adult male members are still away from their homes. After coming back from Ranchi the delegation talked with SP Akhilesh Jha and officer in-charge of the area police station who also assured them that innocents will not be punished.

On Wednesday when some media persons visited the area and tried to talk with the women who are back in their homes, most of them denied to say anything but some dared to say that how long we can keep our children away from their schools so we took an initiative that has resulted. Now it can be hoped that the adult males will soon be back in their houses and will help the administration to nab the actual culprits of the incident.
