With nothing to surprise about, the police are about to close the death case of national level wrestler Vishal Kumar Verma as they have reportedly nothing much to look into an apparent ‘open and shut’ case of death due to electrocution.
“After investigating on various aspects, we have found merit in our preliminary investigation which suggested on very first day that the death was due to electrocution. Vishal was using a water pump and faulty wiring seems to have claimed his life. We have closed the investigation and would be submitting a final report in a day or two,” said Kotwali Police Station In-Charge Shyamanand Mandal on Saturday.
Ironically, the system has nothing to worry about untimely and unfortunate death of dream of half a dozen living beings of a family. The Jharkhand State Wrestling Association (JSWA) president Bhola Nath Singh is still wrestling with the question as to why Vishal went to office that day, Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam limited still has no clue as to how the wiring around turned faulty, the Sports Ministry has not moved even an inch further than recommending meager compensation, and no one is to ask the Urban Development Department as to why it allowed JSWA to continue running its office in remains of Jaipal Singh Stadium.
“No one else is responsible. I have no clue even today as to why Vishal went to office that day. However, I have requested the Sports department committee which visited the premises after incident to provide at least one job to his family because that will be more sustainable than any monetary compensation,” said Singh on Saturday. Interestingly, he repeated that there was no harm in continuing office there, as ‘everything was perfect in office and around except that three day’s continuous rain before the incident must have tormented certain things’.
How Vishal died: Wrestler Vishal Kumar Verma died of electrocution on August 8 at the Jaipal Singh Stadium where he had gone to pump out logged water in Jharkhand State Wrestling Association (JSWA) office. Found lying unconscious by locals, he was rushed to Sadar Hospital only to be examined and declared brought dead.
JSWA pledged to give a Rs 10,000 monthly support to six-member family of lone earner with three unmarried sisters besides, interim relief of rupees one lakh.
