No change during Prez Rule: Brinda Karat

CPI(M) polit bureau member Brinda Karat has said the status quo in the State persists despite the imposition of President Rule and that the situation has not changed from what it was in the past.

Brinda Karat was here while returning from Huntergunj, Chatra. She said it seems that no serious attempt has been made here to change the system during the President Rule. The BPl families are not getting sufficient food grains though the Government food godowns are filled sufficiently.

Moreover, other social welfare programs are also on the verge of failure here. She was commenting on the news of progress report presented by Governor at Ranchi.

Karat said that the Congress and JMM are still trying to make a Government here but now everybody knows that Congress and BJP can do no good for the common man.

She said that both Congress and BJP are actually two sides of a coin and in parliament and outside parliament they only play fixed wrestling.

Condemning the Chhattisgarh incident Karat said that “nothing can be achieved through Maoism nor can it render anything better for the poor and tribal people.”

Asking for a solution she replied that “to check such incidents both political and bureaucratic steps are needed,” and that is according to her not only specific to Maoism.

Criticising the UPA II Government Senior CPI(M) leader Brinda Karat said that by the resignation of one or two Ministers, the charges of corruption cannot be suppressed.

The Prime Minister will have to come forward and should have to give answer in transparent way to the people of India. On the issue of third front and next parliamentary election she hinted that the people of India are now looking for an alternative of both Congress and BJP.

And the left parties are trying to fulfill these aspirations with the likeminded forces fighting against both. CPI(M) believes on its organisation and fighting capacity and certainly after next election we will be in a position to play a crucial role at the center.

The State secretary of CPI(M) Gopikant Bakshi, Hazaribagh district secretary Ganesh Kumar Citu, labor leader Kavita Sarkar and several other workers of the party were with her during this PC at Circuit House.
