No breakthrough in mukhiya murder case in Palamu

There is no breakthrough in the East Haidernagar panchayat mukhiya Dilip Kumar’s murder case. Dilip was gunned down on April 29 in Daltonganj town when he was going to catch a local train for Haidernagar.

The deceased’s family has observed the customary Shradh which was attended by hundreds of people including the Hussainabad RJD MlA Sanjay Kumar Singh Yadav. The deceased’s family awaits killer to be arrested.

Dilip has left behind a young widow Poonam and four children three of them daughters, said the president of the Palamu Zila Mukhiya Sangh Anuj Tripathy. Anuj said the police are working hard to catch the killer but in vain. “It is not the time to blame or blemish the police but our sorrow of losing our man is too enormous with us” Anuj said.

The SP Palamu YS Ramesh said the police are on the trail of the shooter and the shooter will one day or the other be in the net of police. The shooter is a professional one and was hired by the conspirators to kill the mukhiya. The SP further added  the shooter is not from Bihar but from Palamu itself.

About 12 people made named accused in this murder case Ramesh said police are scrutinizing it dispassionately but all the 12 are not involved in it. There is just one who did this heinous crime and he is at large he conceded. Police are trying hard to zero in on the conspirators behind this murder.

In the year 2013 the husband Shafique Khan of mukhiyain (lady mukhiya) Husn Bano was gunned down in Hussainabad sub division reminded Anuj saying mukhiyas in Palamu are very vulnerable and they are to work under extreme pressure, stress and tension.

As a token of solidarity with the deceased mukhiya family the Palamu zila mulhiya sangh has given 100,000 ( one lakh) rupees in cash to the mukhiya’s widow Poonam said Anuj. Anuj said this was given in two phases one of 30,000 a day after the murder and then this 70,000 rupees just a couple of days back.

Police sources  said a lingering land dispute took the toll of the mukhiya. A caste angle is also being pushed forward for the murder. The mukhiya belonged to backward community while in the areas live upper caste men and mukhiya’s rise in the past three and a half years was an eye sore to many especially for his 15 decimal of land which carries a high commercial price tag and which others want to pocket it.
