No achievement to flaunt at Budha Pahad: DIG

Published on:

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Palamu range Vipul Shukla said on Saturday that the operation against CPI Maoists two most wanted figures Arvind and Sudhakaran along with others is on and till date there is nothing such as ‘achievement’ which can be shared.

Shukla also denied any encounter between the security forces and Maoists, reports of which were spread throughout the day on Saturday. However he said, “Sounds of explosions were heard on the upper part of the Budha Pahad.”

The evident ‘war zone’ -- Budha Pahad -- has witnessed a series of explosions in the past few days, which according to sources, is the because of the security forces diffusing the landmines they have recovered from the area.  The site is said to be deadly trap for the security forces with landmines spread on all sides of the hills.

Security forces from Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh have cordoned off the area to get top CPI (Maoist) members said to be hiding at the place.
