With the wedding season in full bloom, the district administration in its fresh directives has banned taking out of procession (Baraat) during wedding ceremonies.
Concerned over violation of social distancing norms during recent weddings taking place in the city,
the Deputy Commissioner Suraj Kumar on Tuesday issued a fresh directive stating that taking out of procession in the form of Baraat cannot be allowed in view of the outbreak of pandemic Covid-19.
He instructed all the incident commanders to stop the procession of the wedding ceremonies with band instruments.
Kumar said that compliance of social distancing in crowded areas is absolutely necessary to prevent the spread of corona infection.
