In a press conference, Jharkhand government's health minister and senior Congress leader Dr Irfan Ansari launched a scathing attack on Godda BJP MP Nishikant Dubey for his remarks against the Supreme Court and demanded his sacking.
Dr Ansari called it a direct attack on the dignity of Indian democracy, constitution and judiciary.
The minister said that Nishikant Dubey's statement is not only going to hurt the dignity of the Supreme Court, but it is going to shake the foundation of democracy. The BJP now wants to make the judiciary its puppet. This is a very dangerous sign, he said.
Ansari said in clear words that if the country does not wake up today, the BJP will buy the constitution and law and order as well. These people are defaming the judiciary by spreading caste poison, he said.
The minister demanded from the President and the Lok Sabha Speaker that Nishikant Dubey should be immediately sacked from the post of Member of Parliament and Strict legal action should be taken against them.
In the press conference, he also said that it is imperative to maintain a balance between the three major constitutional institutions of the country - legislature, executive and judiciary - and when the judiciary itself is attacked, democracy will have no meaning.
On this occasion, a large number of workers and party officials including Congress District President Deepika Besra, senior leaders Ajit Dubey, Vijay Dubey, Nandkishore Singh, Karali Charan Sarkhel, Nishapati Hansda, Birbal Ansari, Haradhan Bhui, Shahid were present.
