Meanwhile, following the arrest of Ali on Thursday, the police on Friday conducted raids at several locations in Jharkhand and West Bengal, including some places at Bardhman.
Intezar Ali, a resident of Hindpiri in Ranchi, has been practicing as a medical practitioner near Moti Masjid in the same locality. Following the arrest, police also conducted raids at Ali’s Hindpiri residence and seized a computer and other articles. A piece of paper written in coded words has also been recovered and efforts were being made to decipher it.
Neighbours of the suspected terrorist, on the other hand, are shocked to hear his involvement in such activities. “It was really shocking for us when police entered here to search the house of Intezaar Ali. Mujahid Nagar so far, remained peaceful and was known for scholars like Gufrana Firdausi, a gold medalist in Urdu language from Ranchi University as well as Umme Habiba, Inter Arts topper in Commerce,” said Ali’s neighbor requesting anonymity. This incident has made a dent to the achievements made by these girls, added the neighbour.
Although, they questioned about constructing huge triple story building out of his practice as a quack in such a short period of time, they asserted that Ali being peace loving person, no one in the locality had suspected any such activity from him.
