National Investigation Agency (NIA) is likely to question top CPI (Maoist) leader Prashant Bose (75) alias Kishan Da in connection with the Elgaar Parishad – Bhima Koregaon case.
Bose who was arrested along with his wife Sheela Marandi, is accused in the Elgaar Parishad case related to an alleged plot for assassinating Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
While Jharkhand Police has not made any official announcement about his arrest, the elderly rebel is said to be questioned by officials of intelligence agencies. NIA too has been informed about this catch.
Two other persons were arrested who are said to be a local courier and another member of the armed squad of CPI (Maoist). They were escorting Bose and his to visit Saranda from Parasnath. One of them has been identified as Raju.
Wanted on over 100 cases across the country his name surfaced in Elgaar Parishad following the probe of Pune police which was investigating the January 1, 2018, Bhima-Koregaon violence case. Later on, this case was handed over to the NIA.
His name was mentioned in a secret letter recovered from the possession of Rona Wilson. The said letter mentioned a plot to kill Modi on the line of Rajiv Gandhi.
“Com Kisan and few other senior comrades have proposed concrete steps to end Modi Raj. We are thinking along the lines of another Rajiv Gandhi-type incident,” the letter said.
Pune Police had claimed that ‘Com Kisan’ was actually Prashant Bose and further filed by a charge sheet against him also.
“Kishan alias Prashant Bose, secretary of ERB of CPI-Maoist, and other underground operatives hatched a conspiracy to kill the Prime Minister of India and also participated in the process of procurement of huge arms and ammunition as part of the larger conspiracy of waging a war against the democratic system and Indian citizens,” the charge sheet
said.
