Published on:

The lifeline of Jharkhand NH33 is once again in critical condition and this time too the spot is in Hazaribagh. The executive engineer of PWD Road division has written a letter to Hazaribagh district administration to stop movement of vehicles having a load of more than 10 metric tons from the Konar River Bridge which is just outside Hazaribagh town.

Sources of PWD dept said that construction of a new bridge has been started parallel to this British period old arc bridge and during the piling work of new bridge a crack developed on the pillar of old bridge which is widening day by day. They said that construction of new bridge will take atleast one year. If heavy vehicles will not pass through bridge after some repairing lighter vehicles can pass through this bridge. In his letter, the executive engineer requested the district administration to issue order of ban of entry of heavy vehicles within 48 hours in that arc bridge which was built about 100 years ago when Hazaribagh-Ranchi Road was single lane.
