Irate residents blocked the NH-75 at B-More near Rehla police station on Friday protesting against the death of a labourer — Surinder Chowdhury. According to the OC Rehla S Kumar, the labourer was crushed under the wall of the stone crushing plant and was rushed to the hospital in Garhwa where he died during the treatment. The wall gave in following weight of the stone chips. The residents had demanded ex-gratia relief for the bereaved family. The NH jam lasted for over two hours. The Government aid in terms of accidental benefit worth a few thousands of rupees to the BPl families has been provided.
