A accident on NH 75 at night angered and forced hundreds of residents at Satbarwa to jam NH 75 for three hours from 5 am to 8 am on Tuesday, bringing traffic to a standstill. Power supply was off and normal life was badly hit. A coal-laden truck was standing at 2 am on NH 75 and a truck carrying cement hit it from behind. The officer in-charge of Satbarwa police station Rustum Khan has confirmed the accident and jamming of NH 75.
Khan said the damaged transformer led to a total shutdown of power supply and this enraged the residents to block NH 75. The oil of the transformer got spilled over the NH 75 further making it dangerous for vehicles. The police have registered a case. The electricity department too has complained to the police about the destruction of its transformer. The coal-laden truck owner has also claimed compensation from the cement-laden truck’s owner for the damages to it.
