Chairperson of NGT Justice Swatenter Kumar assured a ‘circuit bench’ at Ranchi after a request made for that by Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court, Virender Singh. The request of the bench came from Justice Singh in the wake of pending cases related to environmental issues in Jharkhand.
“The ‘circuit bench’ of National Green Tribunal will be in Jharkhand. You give us the infrastructure and help. Jharkhand is an environmentally sensitive State, therefore, it will be our effort to come here and ensure dispensation of environmental justice,” said Justice Kumar.
The Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court raised concern and cited cases related to illegal mining that are some of the prime environmental issues in the State.
