Guru Purnima celebrated at SBPS
To the world you may just be a teacher but to your students you are their hero, their idol. The students of Sarala Birla Public school celebrated the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima with lots of reverence and acknowledged the contribution of their teachers in shaping their personalities and removing darkness from their ignorant minds and guiding them towards the light of knowledge. A special assembly was conducted in which students performed a beautiful skit highlighting the Guru's role in shaping the life of a student followed by a song dedicated to teachers. Various competitions like recitation competition and quiz competition were conducted on this occasion. Active participation of the students added glory to the occasion.

On the occasion of Guru Purnima, on Wednesday, the Guru Poojan programme was completed in the BSV Vidyalaya premises in Nivaranpur of the capital. In the midst of bhajan-kirtan, the office bearers and members of Sri Ramakrishna Seva Sangh meditated upon the Guru by garlanding the picture of Swami Ramakrishna Paramhansa, Mother Sharde and Swami Vivekananda. On this occasion, Tushar Kanti Sheet, Assistant Secretary, Ramakrishna Seva Sangh, said in his address about the Guru-Shishya tradition that the Guru-disciple relationship is such an aspect of our life that our traditional values are preserved. Since ancient times, Guru has got the highest position in Indian society. There can be no other equal to Guru. No power can transform the life of its disciple like the Guru. Aditya Banerjee, Sukrit Bhattacharya, Meera Dasgupta, Archana Chakraborty, Ranu Banerjee, Bula Dutta, Mitta Marik, Aseem Chakraborty, Vivek Rai, Tanmay Mukherjee, Dr. Smita Dey, Alok Sinha, Dr. Ashutosh Chatterjee and others were present on the occasion.
Firing at BJP leader’s vehicle
Unidentified miscreants fired two shots at the car of a BJP leader Suryanshu who escaped unhurt in Palamu on Tuesday. The episode took place at Vanshakti Kataiyya under the Harihurganj police station. SDPO Chhaterpur Ajay Kumar has confirmed the incident. FIR has been lodged. There is no detention or arrest of anyone in this episode so far. Sources said the BJP leader is said to be a witness in a murder case. The survivor is believed to have told police that this attempt to kill him could be for his being a witness in the murder case. SDPO Ajay Kumar said police have begun its investigation and all angles are being probed.
