The National Highway 75, which was constructed three of months ago, has started getting damaged from various parts. The NH connects several villages of two districts Palamu and Garhwa.

Local residents said that the road is broken at several places and they alleged that substandard material is used in the construction work. “Firstly, the contractor took eight years to build this road and after three months of making it, the road was broken from several places. Even though it has not rained ever since the road was constructed but still the road has developed cracks and huge patches which clearly indicates that substandard material was used, ” said A K Pathak , a resident of Garhwa town.

People had to wait for more than eight years for getting this road constructed. The road was constructed and widened from 10 feet to 18 feet in June, 2018 and an amount about Rs. 200 crore was spent on construction and widening of about 75 kilometer long stretch of this road.

On receiving the complaint Garhwa DC Harsh Mangla called to Executive Engineer NH and directed him to immediate repair the road.

The DC said, “NH 75 is the lifeline of the district. The newly constructed road breakage is at several places, especially at the entrance to the city, near bridge, Manjhiaon more etc. And, the EE has been instructed to repair it immediately.”

“Apart from this, because a large part of NH 75 which is ahead of the residual part of Palamu district was also asked to be repaired. It is very essential for the people of Garhwa district,” the DC added.

The DC informed that The district administration has already sent report of by pass for procurement of land aqcuisition to the NH officials.  After that, work will be started for the construction of bypass.
