A newborn premature baby girl wrapped in plastic bag was rescued by police from a bus at Ranchi-Ramgarh road on Sunday. Observing her critical condition she was immediately admitted in Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) Neonatal ward under the supervision of Dr Amar Kumar Verma.

The police approached Child line for further support. “She was born few hours back. Someone kept her in the bus with plastic. She is currently in a critical condition. According to Dr Verma, nothing can be said about her health before 48 hours,” said a member of Child line at RIMS.

Notably, a lady caretaker was required to take care of the girl. Child Welfare Committee (CWC) members contacted sisters of Missionaries of Charity. “Sisters can provide caretaker within their home. So, we had to arrange a caretaker named Chandni at out own level,” the Child line member added.
