On the completion of two years of JMM-Congress-RJD coalition Government in Jharkhand, Chief Minister Hemant Soren gifted the people of the State with schemes and development projects in the tune of Rs 17,222.02 crore in a glittering anniversary celebration function at the historic Morhabadi Ground of the State Capital on Wednesday.
In a move to give relief to people, especially to those belonging to the lower income group of the State, the CM announced Rs 25 per litre cash back on purchase of petrol for ration card holders of
the State. However, the cash back can be availed upto purchase of 10 litres of petrol every month and the subsidy amount will be transferred to the beneficiary’s bank account through DBT.
“Today the prices of petrol and diesel are touching the sky. This has had a bad effect on the poor and middle class families. A poor person, having a motorcycle in the house, is unable to ride it due to lack of money. He is unable to go to the market to sell his crop. Therefore, I have decided that if such ration card holders fill petrol in their motorcycles or scooters, then at the rate of Rs 25 per liter, the amount will be transferred to their bank account. This system is going to be implemented from 26 January next year. A poor family can get this amount up to 10 liters of petrol per month,” announced the CM in his address.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced to implement the Students Credit Card scheme and said that soon they would get the benefit of this scheme. Lack of money will never become a hindrance to them for their education. He said Jharkhand is a product of the State movement. Many people gave their martyrdom in the movement for this State. Our Government is giving pension to such agitators and their dependents with respect. Now they will get 5 per cent horizontal reservation in Government jobs.
The CM said 100 per cent scholarship is being given to Scheduled Tribe students for higher education abroad. This year, under this scheme, six students have been selected to study abroad. Now the State Government is also working towards expanding the scope of this scholarship scheme. Promising students of other classes will also be linked to the scholarship scheme for higher education abroad.
The CM said there has been a demand for the implementation of Old Pension Scheme for a long time by the employees of the State Government. The Government is considering their demand and a legal decision will be taken soon.
He also said thousands of contract workers are employed in many departments of the State. They keep agitating continuously for their demands and problems. Their demands are in the notice of the Government. But, the problems will not be solved by agitations and dharna demonstrations.
“You cooperate with us. Come forward for talks. We will take a suitable decision on your demand, so that with everyone’s cooperation, we can take the state forward on the path of development,” he said.
Earlier, in his address, the CM said our Government has successfully completed two years with cooperation of the people of the State. But, these two years have been difficult and challenging not only for Jharkhand but for the
whole world.
Due to the corona epidemic, the system of the whole world got disturbed. He said 28-30 schemes have been implemented by the Government in the last two years. From the city to the village, the Government is constantly making efforts
in the direction of providing benefits to the people sitting in the last row.
Earlier, where officials did not go to remote villages, the schemes could not reach, but our Government ran the programme for your rights, your government at your door. Under this, not only is the Government department reaching your doorstep, but their problems are being solved by connecting them with the welfare schemes of the Government.
Soren said the Government is making action plans keeping in mind the needs of not only the present but the next 25 to 30 years. The future needs are in the focus of the Government. In such a situation, whatever our plans are being implemented, its far-reaching effect will be seen. The day is not far when Jharkhand will establish its identity as a capable and strong state and will play a leading role in supporting other States.
Governor Ramesh Bais, addressing the function as Chief Guest said that in a democracy, the public interest is paramount. “Congratulating the CM on the second anniversary, he said the Government is continuously making efforts for the welfare of the general public,” he said.
Appreciating the work done by the Government during the corona period, the Governor expressed happiness over the efforts being made by the Government in the fields of education, health and education. He called the programme “Aapke Adhikar, Aapki Sarkar, Aapke Dwar”, as an effective step. The Governor expressed hope that this government will continue to work in the interest of all sections and sections of the society in future also.
