Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Manoj Kumar with the promise to change the face of State capital in the near future took the charges of his new post on late on Friday evening.
Right from the first day of the duty Kumar has fastened his belt in the direction of accomplishing goals. For this he had asked the officials to present the status of current ongoing projects in next 48 hours. Though Kumar denied speaking about any project of the civic body stating it would not to be the right time for making any comment, he talked about city’s burning problem of appointment of new agency for day to day garbage clearance.
“Within couple of weeks, all the selected eight NGOs will be assigned their ward. Moreover, if the time demands for more employees in keeping city clean apart from NGO workers then RMC will deploy its own workers. Related to this I am going to call a meeting soon and will come up with a concrete solution in this direction by the end of this month,” he said.
Besides maintaining cleanliness, providing city a better drainage and sanitation system and repair of pot holes on roads are some of the major issues which are listed on the top of his priority list. “Ranchi is among the most unplanned city of our country. The messy drainage and sanitation system is the area of concern for the civic body. I have asked the officials to present a detailed report on this stating the loop holes faced by the corporation in rectifying the problem,” said Kumar.
According to Kumar, once the nerve of the problem is caught it will be easy to find its solution as there was no problem which did not have an alternate solution. Meanwhile, when Kumar was enquired regarding the changes which he would prefer to bring in the civic body work pattern he said, “We will fasten the work speed of the RMC so that we can achieve our goal on the stipulated time period.”
Deputy CEO Shailendra lal has also expressed his happiness over the appointment of new CEO and said that they would together achieve the goals.
