New Ranchi SSP ready to meet challenges

For Bhim Sen Tuti, the new Senior SP for Ranchi, the capital presents a challenge which is entirely different in character and proportion.  The new police chief of the district has his work cut out making him put safety and security at the top on his agenda as SSP Ranchi. Tuti took charge of the office of SSP on Friday from Saket Kumar Singh who has been transferred to Police Training Academy, Hazaribagh.

Tuti, a 2004 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, has expressed concerns on terrorism emanating from the capital which had led to a series of arrests of Indian Mujahideen operatives from different location in the city.

He also shared his concerns on naxalism and termed it equally dangerous for the State and assured to continue the good works done by his predecessor.

“Since Ranchi is a capital the challenges will be of entirely different nature. I will try to maintain the standard set (by former SSP Ranchi),” pointed out Tuti.

The IPS officer who has earlier contributed as SP of Kishtwar, Sopore and leh has been categorical about security of VIPs in the wake of rising incidents of attacks on senior police personnel and politicians in the State.

“Protection of VIPs is going to be another challenge so I will see that the standard operating procedures are

followed on this matter,” said the new SSP.

Notably, Tuti emphasised on effective prosecution and improving rate of conviction in cases registered with the district police and ruled out rolling heads unless situation compels to do so. “I will stick with the existing team unless situations forces to bring changes,” said Tuti.

An Electrical Engineer from Indian Institute of Technology, Tuti prior to joining IPS was selected for Indian Engineering Services.

He played vital role as SP Kishtwar in the arrest of militants involved in 2011 blasts in Delhi High Court.
