Newly appointed Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee president Rajesh Thakur on Saturday stressed on team work among party workers for strengthening the organisation. Thanking Congress Central leadership, Thakur said, “I would like to express my gratitude to the Central leadership, who have given a golden opportunity to a worker like me to work for the organisation. Now, we have to work day and night to strengthen the organisation with full hard work and dedication with team spirit.”
The first meeting of the presidents of the District Congress Committee was held at the Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Headquarters under the chairmanship of newly appointed State President Rajesh Thakur on Saturday. Congress Legislature Party leader Alamgir Alam and working president Geeta Koda, Bandhu Tirkey, Jaleshwar Mahto and Shahzada Anwar were also present in the meeting.
“Congress President Sonia Gandhi ji, Rahul Gandhi ji and Jharkhand in-charge RPN Singh ji have instructed that the workers have to be listened to. It is the result of the tireless hard work of all you worker friends that the government is running in the State with the strong support of the Congress. We have a dual responsibility, on the one hand, the benefits of the schemes being run by the government in public interest should go directly to the general public, it also has to be monitored,” he said.
“At the same time, at the organisational level, efforts have to be made to connect more and more people with the ideology of the party. It will be my endeavour that in the government programmes in the respective districts, the district heads get due respect by the officers. People will be added to the party only with the consent of the district heads. We should also use social media platforms openly from the point of view of information about party activities and communication among workers. District Congress Committee should have its own bank account, for this the District President should take action,” he added.
Addressing the meeting, Congress Legislature Party leader Alamgir Alam said that there was a time when MLAs and MPs used to follow the district heads. We have to take the organization back to that height. Special care should be taken that there is no atmosphere of accusation against each other in the organization. Priority should be given in organizing the program, from where the organization will get strength. We have to make the truth of spreading the sheet by keeping that proverbial foot.
While addressing the meeting, working president and MP Geeta Koda said that one fails by defeat of the mind and wins by the victory of the mind. “You are the district president, you need to come into action. By adopting the principle of a little soft, a little hot, through the organization, the works of public interest have to be brought to the ground,” she said.
Working President Bandhu Tirkey said that Congress President Sonia Gandhi, former President Rahul Gandhi, Jharkhand in-charge RPN Singh has enhanced the prestige of the workers by handing over the command of the state to Rajesh Thakur. We are all in the same boat whose savior is Rajesh Thaku, he needs to be given strength. The Congress party is serious about OBC reservation, we are determined to give impetus to the government’s efforts towards implementing it, you should make the people of the district aware of this.
Addressing the meeting, working president Jaleshwar Mahato said that everything cannot be left to the government. The district heads are directly accountable to the public. If the government’s decision on issues of public interest is also unfavourable, then the organization will be vocal against it too.
