Fresh hope of expansion of Gaya Bridge underpass has arisen once again after a gap of three years with the deputy commissioner (DC) directing the East Central Railway (ECR) to provide the fresh detailed project report so that the work may be completed.
Chairing a meeting here today DC Uma Shankar Singh further decided to get the underpass constructed from DMTF fund. Giving details Singh said, the ECR had awarded work of DPR to RITES in 2018 but it still has not been provided to the district administration till now.
The expansion of the aforementioned underpass is needed to remove traffic congestion as well as checking pollution emitted by the stranded vehicles due to traffic congestion, he said.
The ECR has been asked to get the DPR from RITES so that work may be completed at the earliest.
Senior officials of the district including DCLR, SDM, CO besides others attended the meeting. The DC has directed concerned officers to be in contact with railway officials for the same.
