Newly appointed Energy Secretary RK Srivastava conducted a review of Energy Department on Friday that also comprised of Managing Directors of distribution, generation and transmission companies.
It is learnt that the Additional Chief Secretary has stressed over improving power scenario in the State by completing all the ongoing projects on time. “All the top officials including engineer-in-chief were present in the meeting. They have been told to improve efficiency of the working force available with them. Special focus would be on completing the infrastructure projects coming up for strengthening power distribution and transmission network on time,” said an official.
Directions have also been given to improve the power supply situation during monsoon. The season is considered unfavourable in terms of power supply and several areas of the State including capital Ranchi is facing the brunt at present.
“He told officials to expedite underground cabling work which can save people from power woes due to rains and storms. At the same time price of electricity has to be kept under control. Since the companies have now sufficient staff strength the sole aim should be on improving quality of power to the consumers,” added he.
