New 100 bed hospital to be a maternity, child care unit in MMCH

The 100 bed newly constructed building on the premises of the Medinirai medical college hospital in Daltonganj is to be dedicated to the public on August 30.

Deputy development commissioner Palamu Ravi Anand said "DC Shashi Ranjan  has given clear order to get this newly constructed building to be opened to the public on August 30 and hence all works small or big if left incomplete be readied and completed by then."

The new one is to house a full and complete establishment of mother and child ranging from mother child OPD to labour room to special newborn care unit to operation theatre to kids immunization etc.

DC Shashi Ranjan saw the blood bank building and inquired if the first floor can be added to it to which DC was told that 'there happened a time when its roof had started sagging when bamboos were used to give this roof extra support from the ground."

The DC saw one or two walls around the main old building asking for its removal. However no health official could convince the DC that the walls are important as otherwise people will park their bikes and cars in and around such buildings.

There is one such boundary wall close to the Gole Ghar. Here if the boundary wall is removed then there will start parking!

The MMCH Daltonganj has around half a dozen trees right inside its premises. One of them is all dead, dry and naked of leaves etc. Its removal is essential. There are a few more trees here which are 'the history of this century old hospital and serve as landmarks like trees near the district TB centre!'

There is one tree which is definitely coming in the way of a joint building of this hospital. Sources said this ancient tree could be saved if building engineers just give some thought to it.

Some patients told this correspondent that these trees are the house of hundreds of birds which chirrup in the evening breaking the monotony of hospital life.

DDC Ravi Anand said "DC has seen a couple of government buildings in and around this hospital which has long long ago outlived its life span and are a fit case of condemning it altogether."

He said such buildings are to be condemned now following which their demolition will start and the space coming out of it will be used to further advance this MMCH Daltonganj.

Sources said this was the second inspection of the DC Shashi Ranjan in a little over two weeks at the MMCH Daltonganj.

The event also showcased the school's commitment to safety and well-being, with necessary precautions taken to ensure the health of all participants. Students and staff adhered to hygiene measures throughout the celebration.
