Netradaan ritual was performed in order to mark the ceremonial Jagarnath mela. Pundits of the temple offered prayers and conducted other rituals with the ‘eyes’ to the lord.
They call it as Divya Dirshti of the lord. It is believed that after the netradaan ritual is performed, lord Jagarnath opens his eyes to fulfill the grants and wishes of all devotees.
People from far away places come to seek blessing from their Almighty lord. The surroundings are decked up with shops of various kinds specially installed to celebrate the festival of lord Jagarnath’s chariot yatra.
