legislators of BJP and AJSU Party showed their resolve to face the stiff looking Opposition during the upcoming Winter Session of the Assembly. The MlAs, nevertheless, also registered their voice for better coordination between legislature and executive. The meeting also attended by Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Friday saw host of issues coming into fore. “Most of the legislators were of the view that Government is doing well and several steps in the direction of welfare of the common man have taken place.
They have been directed to bring up good works started in their respective constituency and developmental projects taken place into the House and back the effort of the Government in that direction,” said Neelkant Singh Munda, Cabinet Minister in the Government. Moreover the MlAs have also been tipped on how to deal with ‘false propaganda’ done by the Opposition in the name of intolerance and a recent issue related to the National Herald case.
“There are chances that Congress MlAs may disrupt the proceeding on these non-relevant issues but we are prepared to deal with such propaganda. As they are issueless such matters may be brought for disrupting the House. But we are ready to deal with those,” said Anant Ojha of the BJP.
At the same time insiders said that some legislators also expressed their resentment over inordinate delay taking place in disbursal of MlA fund and also raised non-implementation of promised schemes in their respective areas. “We are worried with the pace of AC/DC bills getting cleared. There has also been some confusion on the matter. This hampers overall development scenario in the constituency and we demanded that proper action be taken in association with officials so that wrong message does not go out,” said a BJP member after the meeting.
The deliberation holds importance also in the light of lohardaga by-poll for which result is set to be declared on December 17. “If the result does not come in the favour of NDA, it would certainly add fuel to Opposition’s fire. Nevertheless, we are confident of winning the by-poll quite comfortably,” said a senior BJP leader.
On the other hand, Opposition is harping on the comment made by Speaker Dinesh Oraon. Speaking in Chief Whips meeting Oraon slammed the executive for delaying tactics and encroaching upon the legislature’s rights and responsibilities.
“What the Speaker has said is the sentiment of most of the MlAs in the House today. Nothing is heading forward under this regime since the Government has come to power. They are just busy in making tall and hollow claims and we are certainly going to raise that in the House vociferously,” said JVM legislative body leader Pradeep Yadav. Congress is also prepared to raise imposition of Crime Control Act against its former MlA Yogendra Sao by equating it with gagging the voice of dissents.
