On the death anniversary of late ND Grover after a special Hawan, a blood donation camp was organised in which more than 30 staff members donated their blood.
To mark the occasion, ND Grover Memorial Inter School Junior Quiz 2014 was also conducted in which the four finalists namely St. Stephen's School (Shifa Haque, Prince Kumar and Ravi Ranjan Singh) ,Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir (Sourabh Kumar Singh, Badal Kumar and Babloo Kumar ), DAV Public School, Tapin North (Manendra Kr. Jha, Akash Ray and Deosagar Kumar ) and DAV Hazaribagh (Srijan Suman, Shashank Kishore and Harsh Kumar ) were quizzed by the Quizmaster Ratandeep Sharma on various topics including our rich culture, heritage, history and personalities who make our nation great.
DAV Hazaribagh was declared the Winner whereas DAV Tapin & St. Stephens were declared as 1st Runners up and 2nd Runners up respectively. Babloo Kumar of Saraswati Shishu Mandir was adjudged as the Best Quizzer. The founder principal of Markham College of Commerce, Hazaribagh, Shiv Dayal Singh graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, he said that DAV Institutions have been imparting quality education in the society and making it affordable to all. He said that ND Grover did for the spread of quality education in India what Mahatma Gandhi did for winning freedom for India.
Principal Ashok Kumar in his welcome address acquainted the audience with the all out efforts made by the school to help the students realize their full potential. He said that the efforts the management and the faculty have borne rich fruits as is evident in the large number of performers. He threw light on the life of ND Grover and said that Grover was indeed a great soul who did a lot for the under privileged children of the society.
