The CPI Maoist cadres do eat food of the poor but have never tasted cooked mid day meal meant for poor especially deprived children of the Government school.
Sources said each member of the squad of the Maoist when in village ask for food from the villagers but never partake any morsel of mid day meal meant for the children.The villagers too acknowledge it, said sources.A source close to the CPI Maoist said, “They do ask for food from villagers knowing that giving food at such a time when the UPA-2 Government’s sky high prices has weakened the poor and they do not have any other option, still, they have never looked towards the mid day meal meant for the children no matter how severe our pangs of hunger are.”
A contingent of TPC had recently put up stay in a Government upgraded primary school at Kulhaiyya in Harihurganj and since the day was Sunday, the TPC had their own time before getting engaged in a gun battle with the CPI Maoists.OC of Harihurganj police station SK Jha confirmed the staying of TPC in a Government school this Sunday saying no harm or damage was done to the school building at all.
Police sources said Naxals, be they are Maoists or TPC or JJMP or PlFI, do take rest in buildings of the Government only to push off farther from the danger when they find it is looming over them.However, none of the cadres of these outfits ever caused any hindrance in mid day meal by way of partaking it or coerced any school authority to make them eat the food. Police sources said it is their own way to keep their conscience unpricked.
