The Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) lambasted the incident of Jagadalpur, where 27 people were killed in a Naxal attack on Saturday, and urged parties to join hand to eliminate the threat of the left wing extremism.
“We condemn Jagadalpur incident and have decided to hold a march tomorrow to protest to the attack on the politicians,” said JVM legislative body leader Pradeep Yadav. In the wake of Naxal threat in Jharkhand and its implications for the politicians, Yadav said, “Attack on politicians is not a thing to be worried about and while Naxals can eliminate us they cannot destroy democracy.”
The JVM termed the incident as an attack on democracy and not politicians. It will not deter politicians who are rather insignificant compared to the democratic institutions. “They have attacked democracy not politicians but democracy will survive the onslaught of anti-democratic forces,” added Yadav.
The Maoists ambushed a convoy of State Congress politicians and killed many including the proponent of Salwa Judum movement.
