A Naxalite involved in the abduction and killing of a villager was arrested in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district on Saturday, police said.
Bijapur Superintendent of Police Kamlochan Kashyap identified him as Punem Mehanga, President of Jantana Sarkar of the outlawed CPI-Maoist.
He was involved in the abduction and killing a villager after holding a 'Jan Adalat' between the jungles of Tarrem and Silger villages in September 2019.
He was arrested by the District Police and CRPF’s elite force CoBRA (Combined Battalion for Resolute Action) from the jungles of Basaguda and Aautpalli villages.
