A review meeting of police officers was organised in Daltonganj. Director General of Police DK Pandey was also present at the meet. It was Pandey's maiden visit here as DGP. He discussed the issues relating to extremism and the prospect of Palamu division on the developmental front.

The DGP Pandey became nostalgic when he recalled his days here in Daltonganj /Palamu as Commandant ITBP during poll time. He had saved the life of the DFO tiger project from a landmine explosion. Here are the excerpts of the conversation with the DGP DK Pandey.

Splinter groups of the Naxals are holding back the pace of development in Palamu division. How will you tackle themIJ

For the police it does not matter if there are X Naxal group or Y group or Z Naxal group. If any of these X, Y or Z throw spanner in the development then the police are here to deal with them. Any impediment caused by these X, Y and Z groups are to be removed for a better and effective pace of development.

But How do you handle the extremism hereIJ

look! Those who are there (in extremist outfit) must be due to some reasons. It is to be dealt with care and caution. Try to understand this. Yun Hi Koi Bewafa Nahi Hota. Kuch majbooriyan rahi hongee inkey pass bhi.

How is the Naxal scenario in PalamuIJ

Palamau has been a town with its own long drawn history and cultural traditions. It is full of bounty of nature & has heritage of a glorious civilisation. But unfortunately it has been facing security challenges for quite some time. The Police of Palamu is dedicated to serve common man and to help them in the moments of distress. It's our constant endeavour to maintain law & order, curb crime, generate respect for right of individual & basic inalienable human rights. We have been on the right track & have achieved some success in our attempts toward enhanced security environ but still we have miles to go.

How do you give impetus to development hereIJ

Palamu DC is looking into the matter. See we are left with just three months March, April and May. The race against time is fast. Moreover, we assure you to provide a milieu of peace & tranquility to help lay a sound platform for development.
