SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) joined the rest of the nation in celebrating the National Unity Day. Pledge taking ceremonies and a Run for Unity organised on this occasion brought together people from different walks of life.
Mr. Atanu Bhowmick, Director In-charge, Rourkela Steel Plant with additional charge of Bokaro Steel Plant led the pledge taking ceremony held at the Manthan Conference Hall of DIC Secretariat.
Similar Pledge taking ceremonies were held in offices of ED (Works), ED (Projects), ED (MM), ED (M&HS), ED (P&A), ED (Mines) and ED (F&A) where Mr. S R Suryawanshi, Mr. P K Sahoo, ED (Projects), Mr. Somnath Tripathy, ED (MM), Dr. B K Hota, ED (M&HS), Mr. Tarun Misra, ED (P&A), Mr. Alok Verma, ED (Mines) and Mr. A K Behuria, ED (F&A) led the pledge taking function.
Pledge taking ceremonies were also held at in different departments and plant units to mark the occasion. Large number of employees including executives took the pledge in Odia, Hindi and English.
Another major event organised by RSP was the ‘Run for Unity.’ Around 200 Sports persons including Hockey Cadets and athletes of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant gathered together to participate in the ‘Run for Unity’ organised at Ispat Stadium on 31st October morning.
Mr. P K Swain CGM (TA & CSR) flagged off the Mini Marathon. The Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge was administered to all on this occasion. The participants covered a distance of about 1000 meters inside the stadium.
Several Chief General Managers and many other senior officers were also present on the occasion. Mr. R K Verma, GM In-charge (HA, PHS, SW, Sports and Airport) coordinated the programme while Mr. Anil Kumar Mallick, MOMT (CRM) anchored the show.
Through all these programme held on Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, RSP reiterated its commitment to preserve the unity, integrity and security of the nation
