Union Minister for Minority Affairs and Rajya Sabha MP from Jharkhand Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Thursday lashed out at the Congress for creating hurdles in development by washing out entire Budget Session of Parliament.

“Whatever were the issues, it could have been discussed on the floor of Parliament in a democratic way. But they did not allow it to be discussed and kept on bringing one after another issues on daily basis and were later exposed that their intention was not only to stall the House but also not letting the Government to function,” Naqvi said. He said that the Government had answers for all the issues raised by them, whether it is Cauvery, Special Status or Corruption, and was ready for the discussion in Parliament.
The Union Minister was of the view that it was the responsibility of ruling and opposition parties that the Parliament sessions are held, but the Opposition did not want to take part in it.
On the allegations made by Congress president Rahul Gandhi that the Modi Government was not able to tackle the issues raised by them, Naqvi claimed that he had been struggling with bankruptcy of issues.
Referring to working of the Raghubar Das Government in the State, Naqvi said that it has been working effectively in a responsible and transparent way to bring developmental works to the people.
“I also believe that Das has strengthened the environment for development in the State even in adverse conditions and will complete them in the coming days for which he has all the support and cooperation of the Centre,” Naqvi said. He said that Jharkhand had been given Rs 300 crore during the last three years by his ministry and there was a plan to give Rs 1000 more this year.
