'NaMo Mantra' echo in Jharkhand

The Narendra Modi wave that has hit the country is seemingly not going to get down till the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate actually gets the coveted throne at Delhi. It’s the Modi effect that has given rise to social organisations like NaMo fans club, NaMo Sena and others.

The latest in the line is NaMo Mantra, a social outfit started by volunteers in Karnataka, which is going to hit Jharkhand on September 16. Although a non-political organisation, the outfit aims at doing what the BJP bigwigs are primarily focusing on.

The basic aim is to bring youths to fore and spread Modi’s mantra of development to the masses. This will build greater acceptance for the Gujarat Chief Minister and clear hurdles in his way to the 7, Race Course Road.

“It is a social organisation, which will primary consist of youths from across the State. We will use youth power to ensure that Modiji gets 272-plus seats in the lok Sabha polls. Professionals, entrepreneurs, engineers, doctors and social workers will be assimilated,” said State convenor of NaMo Mantra Sanjay Seth.

“The group will spread Modiji’s development mantra through actions and not words. For example, it will help people in financial distress, those who need medical attention for severe illness or impart skills that would help youth find employment opportunities,” he added.

The group, though not registered under any Government Act, has garnered support of 200-odd volunteers before its launch in the State. Its members have planned self-funding and vigorous use of social media for garnering support for Modi, from the villages to cities.

It will also help and encourage youths to get on to the electoral roll for voting.

On the other hand, State BJP president Ravindra Rai said he was not in the know of any such organisation’s launch. “The group does not have any connection with the party. I am not aware of its activities either. If they meet us and talk about their plans, we will see what can be done,” Rai added.

State BJP spokesperson Pradeep Sinha also said the party does not have any ties with the outfit as it already has district and divisional units that have been doing the same work extensively.
